[Game 240 – Taboo – Hatter | Day 303 | nonshareable (guess-the-word headband; requires second party)]
Using them for undercover shenanigans; variously posing as a client, posing as one of the employees; and using them to lead people into traps or gather information.

An assassin is successful at assassinating the Empress, except they get Seth's current trusted stand-in instead; mourning.

More or less a montage memory, as this covers years of work: politics, hidden messages, and the slow and cautious opening up of a narrow bridge between two very historically opposed powers, all in utmost secret. Culminates in the delivery of a missive to Caterina stating that she will be sending messengers from the Empire. Quiet hope and triumph.

The events that end the Dark Ages War. Cain calls Lilith (who left the Methuselah on the grounds of EVERYONE IS BEING MONSTERS and championed the Terrans) to a shuttle station, purportedly for negotiations. Abel and Seth accompany Cain but are delayed on the way; when they arrive Cain has already killed Lilith by tearing off her head and absorbing her nanomachines.
Seth and Abel are horrified; there's a violent struggle, chiefly between Abel and Cain, which is cut off when Seth manages to throw a switch that sends Cain out of an airlock to burn in Earth's atmosphere. Abel retrieves Lilith's head and body, tells Seth to leave and lashes out when she tries to dissuade him, and flees the station in a ship; Seth gives chase but loses him, and is forced to go back to the Methuselah alone.

"The Count of Zagrev has been taken into custody and is being transported. He will probably arrive in a day or so," Asthe said, kneeling.
"Excellent work, Duchess." The obscured image of Augusta, Empress of the New Human Empire, looked down from her floating throne. Her electronically altered voice rang out through the royal chambers. "You mentioned a collaborator from the outside world. How was he?"
"What do you mean by that, Your Majesty?"
Augusta noticed that Asthe's shoulders quivered momentarily. "I'm asking if he was helpful. You expressed a favorable opinion of him in your report, no?"
"N-no! Only that for a Terran, he was useful! D-did you wish for a more detailed report?"
"No, that's unnecessary; I don't wish to burden you with further work. Again, excellent job. You are dismissed."
"Yes, your Majesty! As you wish!" Asthe bowed and departed.
Once the Duchess had left, the chamber's soft lights grew brighter, illuminating the figure of a girl. Stretching out, she spoke in her real voice: "So he's still on the humans' side? Perhaps I shouldn't pick a fight with the Vatican. One of him, we could overcome . . . but two? That would be troublesome . . ."
A green-eyed teenager sat on the floating throne. Her dark bobbed hair surrounded a pretty face; her legs and arms were long and slender; and her expression energetic and catlike in nature. She took off her large headdress and draped herself over the cushions.
"He sure hasn't changed . . . still honouring her wish. I don't understand how he's so popular with the girls, but he really should move on. I'd recommend Astheroshe . . ."
The royal chamber's interior design depicted a pre-Armaggeddon Canadian landscape: a nostalgic, lush green forest. The green smell and chirping of the birds were soothing.
"Oh, what should I do?" the girl sighed. Eventually, she fell into a restful sleep. A small songbird fluttered down to perch upon her chest, which rose and fell in a gentle rhythm.
